Do we have internet connectivity on a Turkey gulet?
YES of course.
Internet connectivity is available on almost all Turkish gulets. They will not charge you extra for it, usually, it is already included in your charter price.
Your gulet will have some sort of cell phone or a WIFI stick and will provide you the internet through their cell network.
So keep in mind in some remote areas there can be bad connection due to bad cell coverage. But in most areas, Turkey has good cell coverage also in the sailing spots where you will be cruising.
CROSSING BORDER WITH GREECE
If you will be on a route where you will cross the border with Greece, please be aware of different providers.
Turkey gulets won’t have internet connectivity in Greece or if they will you will be warned of some extra charge. You can also ask your Captain and he will provide you with all the possibilities on hand.
For Europeans that is not a problem. Greece is a European Union member and in that regard, you would have the possibility to use your own cell phone and use your roaming data. Usually, it is now already included in your cell phone package.
For all others who are cruising with a Turkish gulet into Greece. We advise them to buy an international sim card with an internet package included.
You can buy them all over Turkey. So you won’t have internet connection problems.
For additional information, you can talk to your personal sales representative and he can advise you which gulets in Turkey offer internet connectivity also in Greece.
So internet connectivity is not an issue on Turkish gulets only problem is that you will sometimes be in an area that is not covered by cell coverage.
But that is the nature of gulet cruising or boat cruising in general.
GOOD FOR BROWSING AND ANSWERING EMAILS
Also to notice is that the internet speed won’t be the same as you have it at home. It is not a problem for browsing and answering emails, but if you plan to watch some youtube videos or to download movies it would be a problem.
In this case, it is better to prepare yourself with your own prepaid phone or sim card or you can also ask for a gulet with better internet connectivity in your sales process.
